Karta

Karta is a short film trying to break away a ritual custom of our society of women or girls not being able to go to the shamshan for final cremation of their own family and the myth of considering men or boys immune to their feelings. This film also showcases the grieving psychology of different generations in relation to their bond with the dead and also clears the importance of grief and letting go of emotions and letting ourselves feel them in a healthy way.
As with our protagonist, Isha faces confusion due to an imbalance in her mental state while she is trying to protect her younger brother from facing a major trauma, after the sudden demise of their father, Sanjay. The whole family was numb and feeling in their own separate ways. While our protagonist has a meaningful encounter with her own thoughts as she tries to face the conflict of the rituals of the society.
